Our Story
Who Are We?
We are a family-owned business established in 1976, driven by a passion for Italian food. Our journey began with the “Bagera Distribution Company” in Egypt, importing the finest Italian cheese and dairy products. Over the years, our dedication to quality allowed us to expand our reach, supplying top restaurants and hotels across Egypt.
In 1989, we opened our first authentic Italian pizzeria, “Maison Thomas,” in Cairo, pioneering 24/7 service. Unsatisfied with the local mozzarella quality, we launched our own cheese factory, producing a variety of Italian cheeses. This venture led to the creation of “Farm Cheese Factory,” which now produces 56 types of handcrafted cheeses, including premium Dutch varieties.
Our success with “Maison Thomas” paved the way for further expansion, with 10 more branches across Egypt. In 2004, we ventured into fine dining with “La Trattoria,” and by 2012, we took our expertise to France with “Piccolo Mondo,” “Tommasino,” and “La Puttanesca.” Despite the challenges of 2020, we opened “Zaika,” a Russian caviar and cocktail bar.
Today, we are thrilled to bring our passion for Italian cuisine to Montenegro with Villa Cesare and Tony’s Bar in the Marina of Luštica Bay.

Our secret to success lies in Nonna Gigi’s traditional homemade tomato recipe, cherished and passed down through generations. This beloved recipe is at the heart of our dishes, crafted by our executive chef, Augusto Rosati, who continues to surprise and delight our guests with authentic Italian flavors.
